You know it’s going to be good when there is banging within the first few pages. So much banging. Lush Money is about Roxanne, a billionaire entrepreneur, and Mateo, a prince of a tiny (fictional) country that specializes in wine-making but is super broke. Roxanne is looking for some super stellar sperm and Mateo’s country is in desperate need of some cash. So Roxanne strikes a deal with Mateo’s dad (aka the king). Mateo and Roxanne will be married for one year, have sex three times a month until she’s pregnant, and will amicably split once said year is up. And Mateo’s country will be handsomely rewarded, obviously. One small problem, Mateo has no idea his father entered into said agreement, and he’s got some serious issues with being used as a stud horse. Sparks fly between Roxanne and Mateo immediately, but they have to navigate all the terms of their agreement, while attempting to also emotionally navigate their growing feelings for each other.

I am such a sucker for a royals storyline and I couldn’t put this book down. Honestly, the only thing keeping it from being a perfect score in my book is the ending, which gets a little too soap opera/far-fetched for my tastes. But I absolutely loved both of these main characters, who are both so much more than they seem. Roxanne and Mateo are both layered and flawed in some really real and meaningful ways, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with both of them. Their chemistry is also off the charts, and the sexy times are hot and plentiful. This was one of those books that I started reading and didn’t want to put down. I loved watching these two characters fall in love, and I also really loved watching them figure out how to get over their emotional hang ups together. It’s a beautiful love story and it’s beautifully written. I am really looking forward to reading more from Angelina in the future.

Overall Rating: 4.5 stars (and it was really close to a 5!)
