Fave Reads of the Month: January 2022

Not going to lie friends, January was a tough month for reading. My brain was full of all the anxiety possible in the world and I found it really hard to focus. I just barely managed to make it through my TBR, and while I liked a lot of the books I read, I didn’t love as many as I normally do. But I did read some stand outs, and I wanted to share them with you!

Not All Diamonds and Rose by Dave Quinn: I did make a mini resolution to read more non-fiction this year, and I don’t think this one quite nails the point, but I freaking loved this book. Bring me Housewives drama all day every day. The only thing wrong with this book is it was finished before Salt Lake City premiered, so I’m going to need a second edition, like immediately.

Would You Rather by Allison Ashley: I actually got to read this book way back when Allison was still writing it, and I love how far it has come! I was so excited when I heard this book was getting published because I fell in love with these characters the moment I met them. It’s not out for another couple months, but you should preorder this bad boy right now.

Delilah Green Doesn’t Care by Ashley Herring Blake: This book isn’t out for another week or so, but please make it a point to pick it up when it releases because it is amazing. I fell in love with both main characters but also wanted to be both of the main characters? The emotions here pack a serious punch and I’m looking forward to rereading this one at some point.

Hook, Line, and Sinker by Tessa Bailey: Tessa can sometimes be hit or miss for me, but this one was a big ole hit. This one has my favorite kind of hero, cocky on the outside, self conscious and a little broken on the inside. And it’s Tessa, so it’s hot. Obviously.

Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon: I don’t read a ton of contemporary YA, but Nicola really knows how to punch you right in the heart. I loved this one, though beware the ending is not what I was hoping for!

Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid: I don’t know what to say about this book other than it was absolutely brilliant. Hooked from the first page, I know all of these people, gorgeous prose brilliant.

We Are Not Like Them by Christine Pride and Jo Piazza: This was a tough read, but a good one. One of those where I was literally cringing, but it was so interesting and so well written.

The House on the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune: Ugh I love this book so much. It’s joining my shelf of favorite fantasy reads because it was just perfect.

Overall, not a bad month of reading, especially considering my broken brain! What was your favorite read from January?
