Fave Reads of the Month: May 2021

Hi, I’m going to need everyone to stop putting out so many amazing books please. My bank account can no longer handle it. Okay, don’t actually stop putting out stellar books, I just need to find a way to win the lotto or something. And also add like five hours or so to every day. I don’t feel like these requests are unreasonable. On that note, here are some of the fantastic books I read in the month of May!

Pride and Premeditation by Tirzah Price: I was not expecting to love this YA murder mystery, but once I started, I couldn’t put it down! I am not a big P and P lover (gasp!) but this retelling was a lot of fun and one you could enjoy even if you aren’t a huge fan of the original.

Like Lovers Do by Tracey Livesay: This is one of the amazing books I read during my Palm Springs weekend getaway and it was the perfect pool day read. I loved the characters and it was super hot.

Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q Sutanto: There was so much buzz leading up to this book, which sometimes results in the book itself being a let down, but that was so not the case with this one. It was laugh out loud funny and I finished it in a day because I just couldn’t put it down once I started. You can read my full review here.

Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner: I super scored here because I found a copy of this in a Little Free Library and I really enjoyed reading this one. It definitely took a darker turn than I expected, but it was another one I didn’t want to put down once I started.

Heartbreak for Hire by Sonia Hartl: I freaking loved this book. It was super steamy, yet had tons of heart and lots of laughs. I usually take a while to finish ebooks because my eyes can’t handle it, but I breezed right through this one. You can read my full review here.

Serpent and Dove by Shelby Mahurin: I’m very behind on my popular YA fantasy because I like to read paperbacks, and I’d heard so much about this one and it really lived up to the hype!

Whiteout by Adriana Anders: I was reluctant to read this one because I hate the cold and I don’t love suspense, but I ended up enjoying this way more than I thought I would.

Rule of Wolves by Leigh Bardugo: I mean, she just delivers every time.

The Housewives by Brian Moylan: I devoured this behind the scenes look at my favorite show of all time. So much tea was spilled and I was here for every drop of it.

The Flatshare by Beth O’Leary: Lots of people are comping my book to this one so I figured I should read it and of course I loved it!

Another month of superb reading in the books (get it?)! On to the next!
