Way back when I first found out Lease on Love was going to be published, my amazing in-laws were basically like what can we do to help and I was like you could make me some cocktails! Since retiring, my father-in-law has become quite the mixologist, and I knew he would come up with some killer drinks, but I did not expect him to go so far above and beyond (which of course he did, because that’s what he does!). I’m talking special ordering fancy liquors, hosting tastings, and even making me a whole gift basket complete with fancy glasses and all the supplies needed for my special cocktails (pretty sure my mother-in-law had something to do with the assembling). Honestly, I am so lucky to have them and these cocktails are all delicious and pretty, which is really all I require in a drink! If you want to celebrate with some Lease on Love cocktails of your own, here’s the recipes! (And don’t worry, I was able to find all of these ingredients at my local big box liquor store!)
Spring in New York
2 oz Lavender Vodka
2 oz Pomegranate Juice
Squeeze Fresh Lemon
Prepare your glass with a sugar rim. Mix lavender vodka, pomegranate juice, and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Shake thoroughly before pouring into prepared glass. Garnish with a lemon round.
Bridge and Blooms
1.5 oz Rose Liqueur
6 oz Cucumber Tonic
Squeeze Fresh Lime
Fill a tall glass with ice. Add rose liqueur. Top with cucumber tonic and a squeeze of fresh lime juice.
Lease on Lavender (this one was created by me!)
1.5 oz Lavender Limoncello
5 oz Prosecco
Splash Simple Syrup
Squeeze Fresh Lemon
Prepare your glass with a sugar rim. Add lavender limoncello and a splash of simple syrup. Top with prosecco and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice. Garnish with a lemon round.
