Monthly Wrap Up: June 2022

Hi friends and welcome to another monthly wrap up! Hard to believe we are more than halfway through 2022, but here we are! June was a pretty good month, with a fair amount of relaxing, which I am not mad about! Here’s some of the highlights!

Reading: I read sixteen books in June, which honestly is surprising because I felt like I was in a bit of a reading slump. I really enjoyed a lot of non-romance books, which is unusual, but I like that I have been branching out some and exploring some different genres. I had quite a few favorite reads, which you can read about in this post right here!

Writing: Not going to lie, not much happened on the writing front in June, which is okay! I submitted my final round of major edits for JUST MY TYPE in May, which meant June was a bit of a break. I have a couple of new rom com ideas jumping around in my brain, and I’ve also been playing around with a fantasy romance series I started during the beginning of the pandemic but just never got a chance to finish. I don’t know if anything will come of the fantasy series, but it’s been a fun little distraction and a nice escape.

Movies and TV: I saw two movies in June, both of which were with and for my kiddo (we love summer movie days). We saw The Bad Guys, which was fine, and Lightyear, which I really enjoyed even though I seem to be in the minority for that one. I did a recent Movie Minis post where you can see more of my thoughts! On the TV front, I’ve been majorly into my reality shows (obvs), but I also watched the Keep Sweet, Pray and Obey documentary, which was a lot. I also really enjoyed Under the Banner of Heaven, but major content warnings on that one that you should definitely check out. Honestly, I know I watched more interesting things, but my brain is not great at retaining information these days!

Life Stuff: June was one of the calmest months I’ve had in a really long time and it was amazing. I only had one wedding. I wasn’t on deadline. We got to go on an actual vacation. It was bliss all around, and I really needed the respite from the madness. It was a lovely break, despite the world continuing to burn around us.

Something tells me June might be the only calm month I get this year, so I’m glad I took full advantage! Thanks for tuning into to another monthly wrap up!
