Monthly Wrap Up: May 2022

Hi friends and welcome back to another monthly wrap up! As evidenced by my Insta grid up top, May was pretty much all about JUST MY TYPE! But honestly, it was a really busy month and I’m just happy to be on the other side! Here’s the highlights from May!

Reading: I finished seventeen books in May, and I honestly I loved all of them. It was hard narrowing down my favorites, but I somehow managed to pick a top twelve. But really, I think the lowest rating I had for the month was four stars, which basically never happens so shout out to my awesome month of reading! If you’d like to see all my faves, you can find them in this post right here!

Writing: May was all about JUST MY TYPE! I finished my last round of edits (happy to report from June that edits have been accepted, which means we’re moving on to copy edits, woohoo!). I also got to reveal the stunning cover last month, which I am so in love with. I was worried the Lease cover could never been topped, but the Putnam team really knocked it out of the park with this one. I didn’t make a single change, what you see is exactly what they sent me the first time and I literally cried when I saw it. As you all know, writing this second book has been a struggle and I’m so happy to finally be finding the love for this book!

Movies and TV: I saw a few movies in May (post coming soon) and they were mostly enjoyable. I saw Everything Everywhere All at Once, which was fantastic, and the new Downton Abbey movie which was all vibes and no plot and exactly what I needed in the moment. My feelings on Doctor Strange were more mixed, but hey, I watched it? I finished Downton Abbey (the series) and had a definite TV show hangover after because I was really sad to finish these characters’ stories (and also it’s not on Netflix anymore so boo for that because it totally would’ve become my new comfort show). But I loved it and I hope they keep making movies because I will see them all. My mom and I are going to London later this year and very much considering doing the tour because we’re going to be in London and we must.

Life Stuff: May was another supremely busy month for me. I had four weddings, one of which was a wedding I’d been planning with the couple since February of 2019. They had to postpone twice and it was so exciting to finally make it to wedding day! We had a fabulous time and they were one of my favorite couples ever so it was a good way to end a really busy month! All the weddings and working on edits didn’t leave much time for anything else, which is why June has become the month of hardcore chilling. It’s well-earned!

Thank you for checking in on another monthly round up! Cheers to June!
