Holy shit it’s officially summer! WTF 2021 you are flying by. And I feel like two gray hairs pop up every time I say something about how fast the time is going. But whatev, I can go to the salon now so bring it! The summer is shaping up to be filled with some excellent books and my TBR (and my wallet) is already weeping. I need them all! I somehow managed to narrow it down to just a few for June, so let’s take a looksy!
The Shaadi Set-Up by Lillie Vale: Lillie and I share the same (amazing) editor so of course I am going to love this one. Lillie did her cover reveal a couple of days before I signed my deal and I remember thinking oh my gosh if this all goes through I am going to be begging for an ARC of that book! Haha, I got one! And I can’t wait to read it!
A Certain Appeal by Vanessa King: Vanessa is also with Putnam, though I originally found her because holy shit this cover!!!!!! It is STUNNING. I’m obsessed. And you had me at Pride and Prejudice burlesque!
Temptations of a Wallflower by Eva Leigh: I think I’ve made my way through most of Eva’s back list now which actually makes me sad because I love her words so much. Now I have to wait patiently for her newest (boo patience).
The Summer Job by Lizzy Dent: I mean, look, this book has a glass of wine on the cover. What, was I supposed to not buy it?
Hang the Moon by Alexandria Bellefleur: I absolutely loved Written in the Stars so I am super stoked for this follow up!
Dear Girls by Ali Wong: Ali Wong, need I say more?
Happy Endings by Thien Kim-Lam: I’m a romance writer and wedding planner, happy endings are literally my life!
Rosaline Palmer Takes the Cake by Alexis Hall: I am here for all of these foodie romances coming out, especially because Alexis is amazeballs.
The Donut Trap by Julie Tieu: Julie and I have been Twitter writer friends for some time now and I remember when she announced her book deal because it was the first time I was like oh my god I know her!!!! Julie is the sweetest and I have been waiting to read this book for months and I CANNOT WAIT!
Off the Record by Daisy Blaine: Daisy is another writer friend and she has been killing it lately. This one is one I’ve been looking forward to!
(Can I just take a minute to say how awesome it is to get to hold my friends’ books in my hands? Like what is my life right now? How did I end up with such talented people all around me?)
The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He: This was in my latest Owl Crate and they rarely steer me wrong!
These Feathered Flames by Alexandra Overy: I’ve had really good luck with my Bookish Box books lately so I’m hoping that trend continues!
Imposter Syndrome by Kathy Wang: I know this book is not about being a writer, but that title hits hard friends.
So excited to read all these amazing books by people I know and people I don’t! What’s on your TBR this month?
